Bottom repair. The loose and cracked fairing material has been ground away exposing the original laminate.
9th thumbnail - One layer of 1708 Biaxial E glass was vacuum bagged to the surface using VinylEster resin. The single laminate provides additional stiffness to the hull and helps to fill some of the deep trough that was originally filled with poly filler.
Numerous low spots were then filled with VinylEster fairing filler.
The hull was then sprayed with a light coat to show pinholes and other imperfections that require filling. The Bootstripe was sprayed, then the blue, to the same skin thickness. After sanding and polishing, the bootstripe can be seen, but not felt, giving a perfectly smooth and beautiful bottom.
